If you have any other questions to ask, please reply to the topic you're unclear about. This way, when the question is answered, it is left behind for all others to see in an organized fashion!
Technically, there are no mods. Since this is a musebox kind of environment, the only 'mod work' that's being done is updating the roster, fixing technical issues, and answering questions about the general system of the environment.
Otherwise, there is no one to try and herd the cats known as RPers, no one to push plot, no one to try and control the game. The players are left to come up with their own events and plot, they are the ones that handle their own issues with other players.
Anyone who would like to host or start an event only needs to PM the caretaker account to get the password that allows them to log into the account! Players are trusted not to spam the rp with the caretaker account unless their idea calls for it.
No! Players are only required to provide a bit of information on their character when they reply to the taken character page. It will consist of a background link, a picture of their appearance, and a list of their possessions.
In fact, the only reason a taken character comment should be beyond 100 words is if the character is an AU, Canon!OC, or an OC, and this is only to explain their backgrounds a little more to prevent confusion amongst the other players.
What about events and plots? Can players post memes?
As far as events and plots go, players are entirely in charge of this happening. There's a lot of room to get creative and do whatever you feel. If your idea involves using the caretaker account, just shoot the account a PM to get the password to log into it. ALWAYS, ALWAYS get the general yay or nay before you try to do an event or a plot! This is just common courtesy so that players who don't want to get involved, or are busy but would love to get involved at some point, know about it before hand! If characters are going to get hurt or die, put up a permissions post and ask who would like to volunteer!
On the subject of memes, since this is a musebox, memes do not need to be posted in a special community. A meme is what is considered an event -- no matter what it is (tfln, 7 minutes in heaven, random icons) -- it takes place in the RP environment. All you need to do is tweak the meme to fit the environment.
OF COURSE NOT! Just play and have fun. The only type of 'AC' is that if you take a character, it's asked that you at least play this character for ONE WEEK before dropping. This is to prevent chaos in knowing who's here and who's not. A roster list is posted by the caretaker account every week listing who is still around, who has left, and who is new.
Since it's a musebox, if you want to stop playing a character almost immediately after you start, that's completely cool. No one's forcing you to play anyone. We all know what it's like to be SUPER INTERESTED in a character, create a journal for them, blah blah, and then suddenly, you're no longer interested. Happens all the time.
It's just common courtesy to those updating the roster list that you at least play your character for ONE WEEK after you pick them up. After that, you are welcome to drop them and pick up anyone else you'd like to try.
NOPE. If you can play 10 characters at once, do it. If you're busy and can only hold onto 1, then just take one for the moment. Do whatever feels comfortable.
They can be any format you want to play in. If you want to play as an action spam entry, do it. If you want to practice your writing and do a lengthy log, do it. If you want to do nothing but text speak or just thread by icons alone, DO IT!
Please note what your entry format is and where your character is located is all that's asked.
Yes! When characters post into the taken character page, a tag will be created for them depending on what they are.
Canon = (Canon) CHARACTER NAME AU = (Canon!AU) CHARACTER NAME OC = (OC) CHARACTER NAME Canon!OC = (Canon!OC) CHARACTER NAME Double = (Canon!#) CHARACTER NAME
For doubles, depending on when they apped, their number will range from 1 to however many numbers are needed. Example, say an Ichigo Kurosaki apped. His tag would be (Bleach) ICHIGO KUROSAKI. If another Ichigo apped while the original was being played, the tag would look like (Bleach!1) ICHIGO KUROSAKI. Every other double after that, even if they apped after (Bleach!1) dropped, the next Ichigo would be (Bleach!2) ICHIGO KUROSAKI.
This is so players can look up old entries pertaining to their character journals if they want without having to sort through a million other Ichigos.
After the tags are made, players can tag their entries as they tag into it or create them. You don't have to tag your stuff, no one is twisting your arm. It's mostly just so people can look back on old entries without having to sort through 10 pages of entries.
ANYTHING! Canon, OC, AU, Canon!OC, genderbends, doubles, etc. etc. As long as people are having fun and as long as a character isn't seen as just having been created to troll the comm, anything can played.
Sentient animal characters can be played, too. The only requirement is that they are able to communicate with others somehow. Animal characters are not confined to staying in one room, but if they're larger than a dog, they'll have to stay in the Rec Area of the Home Realm.
YEP! If they can communicate and have somewhat of a mind of their own, bring them on over. If they are Transformer size, they will be sized down to 7 feet.
All doubles must be from a different canon point, unless one with a certain canon point is dropped. Then you can canon-update/degrade them to that point.
There can be as many doubles as players want. If there are 10 Narutos walking around, it might get a little annoying and people might be tired of seeing the character around. If there are 3, though, that might be more acceptable. But if players don't care about seeing 10 of them, and they're all consistently played with, then go nuts.
If you have a power a normal human couldn't have, it is DISABLED in the Home Realm and City Realm. You can try to use them, but nothing will happen and you'll look silly. IF THE POWER IS ESSENTIAL TO YOUR CHARACTER SURVIVING, THEY WILL BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE USING IT, BUT ONLY TO LIVE.
Otherwise, powers work in most of the realms. In the Wilderness, War, and [Broken] Realms, they have no limitations. The only catch is, the citizens of each realm will have some fail-safe activated in them so your character can't obliterate them or the realm. Powers also work in the Glitch Realm, although you'll find that 50% of the time, they'll randomly decide to not work or they'll work strangely. Hence, the name "Glitch."
Like any smart phone in the world right now, it can talk, text, video, take pictures, etc. etc. Unlike every smart phone in the world, though, it is hooked up to a genius AI that can perform GPS and search functions even when you are not standing in the room with it. ELI is kind of like Siri, if Siri were about 30x better.
The comm device is also what allows you to open portals and purchase things in the City Realm. It's a very handy, catch-all device and it would be silly to leave without it.
What about beings that can't really handle a phone physically? What do they have?
The Caretaker has planned for this! Animals will already be wearing a communication device as a collar upon their arrival. Robots can download ELI into their system for use in communications.
What's to stop someone else from snapping up another person's comm device?
Once a person picks up a comm device, the hyper-sensitive touchscreen automatically reads and records their fingerprint and biometrics. This way, only that person can pick up and use their own comm device. When someone else tries to use it, the system of the device will automatically lock them out. The lock-out protocols stay active for as long as they are touching it. The protocols can be turned off immediately upon the owner of the device touching it.
The Caretaker is very understanding and patient. He will immediately replace your comm device the next day. If you consistently lose it, break it, or what have you, the Caretaker will become suspicious and suspend your privileges for a week. After that you will receive one more try before the Caretaker revokes your privileges until further notice.
If your character doesn't understand how to work the comm device, ELI will be glad to explain all about it and guide them through it. He is programmed to understand other languages, too, so if you character is having trouble getting their point across, he can speak in other languages, as well.
The comm devices cannot be hacked. If the communication device feels threatened by outside coding, it will send a signal to ELI, who will immediately shut down any attempts at hacking.
GENERAL.
How does the mod system work?

Are there apps?

Can players volunteer to help with the game?
Is there AC of any kind?
How does picking up and dropping work?
It's just common courtesy to those updating the roster list that you at least play your character for ONE WEEK after you pick them up. After that, you are welcome to drop them and pick up anyone else you'd like to try.
Is there a character limit?
What is the format of the entries generally?
Please note what your entry format is and where your character is located is all that's asked.
Is there a tag system?
Canon = (Canon) CHARACTER NAME
AU = (Canon!AU) CHARACTER NAME
OC = (OC) CHARACTER NAME
Canon!OC = (Canon!OC) CHARACTER NAME
Double = (Canon!#) CHARACTER NAME

Hey, how about fourth-wall and meta?
CHARACTERS.
What kind of characters can be played?
What about animals?
How about robots?
So, doubles.
There can be as many doubles as players want. If there are 10 Narutos walking around, it might get a little annoying and people might be tired of seeing the character around. If there are 3, though, that might be more acceptable. But if players don't care about seeing 10 of them, and they're all consistently played with, then go nuts.
So, how do powers/abilities work here?

What happens if I lose/break my comm device?
HOW DO WORK TECHNOLOGY
What about hacking?
Is ELI considered a communication device?
